Present at this ceremony, held in the conference room of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) at Bel Ombre, was the board’s chief executive Sherin Naiken, former CEO Elsia Grandcourt, and other STB executives.

In a small speech Ms Naiken thanked the STA on behalf of the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange.

“I appreciate the gesture that the STA has shown as Ms Gerry was a former student at the academy,” Ms Naiken said.

Ms Naiken took the opportunity to thank the Seychelles Trading Company (STC) for sponsoring Ms Gerry’s make-up, and Honda for sponsoring Ms Gerry a scooter.
She also appealed to any trade or company who wishes to support Ms Gerry that they are welcome to do so.

She also announced that the date for the next Miss Seychelles … Another world 2014 has been set for May 31.
Talking to Seychelles Nation, Ms Gerry shared her recent experiences in Italy for her photo shoot.

“It was very intense, as the photo shoot started at 10am and finished at 10pm, but I think the experience has prepared me for the Miss World pageant,” she said, adding that she is expected to get more international exposure.

Her next event will be in La Reunion where she has been invited to attend the crowning of Miss Reunion. There has also been a proposal of her being exposed with an international modelling agency.
