Water distribution to dominate question time |29 October 2013

The Minister for Environment and Energy, Professor Rolph Payet, will be in the National Assembly this morning to answer several questions relating to his ministry.

The issue of water distribution in the districts will be extensively examined during question time.

The revision in tariffs for water and electricity, announced by the Public Utilities Corporation recently, will be the subject of an urgent question also to be answered by Professor Payet. The question will be tabled by the leader of government business, Marie-Antoinette Rose.

The Minister for Labour and Human Resource Development, Idith Alexander, will also be present to deliver a statement on the National Human Resource Development Council.

The National Assembly will, lastly, vote to approve the Financial Leasing Bill, 2013 which seeks to establish a comprehensive framework to regulate financial leasing businesses in Seychelles with the aim of developing the country’s economy by attracting investor to the financial sector.

The bill will be presented by the Minister for Finance, Trade and Investment, Pierre Laporte.
