SPTC launches ‘How am I driving?’ campaign |08 November 2013

Many would have noticed the yellow stickers with the question ‘How am I driving?’ on the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) buses.

Members of the public must have been wondering why it is there, and what is its purpose? Some may have already formed their own ideas about it but the SPTC has given a detailed explanation to Seychelles Nation.

This new campaign launched by the corporation is part of the efforts to enhance safety and security levels at the SPTC and to ensure that passengers feel safe throughout their journeys. It is also a way to educate drivers on how they are driving as the SPTC is against speeding. The campaign is also a way to encourage members of the public to interact with drivers.

“Members of the public can call 4325252 between 7am and 9pm from Monday to Sunday to comment on the drivers’ performances – whether the drivers’ customer care skills are being met, their attitude on the job, if they close the doors before they drive on, how is their service and if they are loyal and faithful to the company,” said Bernadette Soffola, the SPTC senior public relations officer.

Apart from calling the hotline number, customers can also fill in a form on the SPTC’s website – www.sptc.sc, send an email to inquiry@sptc.sc, talk directly to the driver or pass by the SPTC’s office personally to make their comments.

As part of this new campaign, the management has set up a committee and designed a brochure with all the criteria to reward drivers with the most points.

The SPTC has also introduced quarterly rewards where drivers will receive a certificate and a little token of appreciation and have their names published in the company’s monthly newsletter.

If you are a regular user of SPTC buses, do not hesitate to take part in the campaign, stating whether a driver has disappointed you or has made your journey a safe and a good one.

A little praise or complain might help change or make your journey better!
