Barclays encourages reading in orphanage |20 November 2013

The boys at the Foyer de Nazareth orphanage will hopefully develop a flair for books now that a reading corner has been set up at the institution.

A group of staff from the Barclays Bank teamed up with some youths from the group Compassion on Saturday to set up the reading corner.

The activity formed part of Barclays’ ‘Make A Difference Day’ campaign organised annually to help the less fortunate
The bank had sponsored the chairs, tables and posters for the corner.

“We at the Barclays Bank avail of the MADD campaign to develop the skills of the less fortunate,” said Lisanne Forte, a member of the Barclays team at the activity.

However, even if the main activity was to set up the reading corner, some staff and youths from Compassion were also helping with other chores such as cutting grass and cleaning the windows.

During the first two weeks of November Barclays Bank has organised many activities under the MADD campaign including giving career talks in schools.
