Anse Boileau gets community guardians committee |23 November 2013

The Anse Boileau district has its community guardians, an initiative of the Anse Boileau district council.

The chairperson of the Anse Boileau community guardians is Daniella Hoareau. The other members on the executive committee are Nimham Senaratne (vice-chairperson), Anselmine Cafrine (secretary), Daniel Assan, Gilbert Rassool, Monique Hoareau, Collette Servina and Gianelli Antat (members).
The executive committee has been elected into office for a period of two years.

Speaking to Seychelles Nation, Ms Hoareau said: “One of the many challenges that the district continues to encounter and is striving to overcome is securing meaningful involvement of the individuals and families in the planning, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of district facilities and projects. There is a common drive by society to empower individuals within their communities and to help the residents become the key players in the development of their district. It is towards that end that the Anse Boileau community guardians came to be. It is an association made up of members – graduates and professionals from diverse sectors of the community – equipped with various skills to be able to help in the development of the district.”

The Anse Boileau community guardians is an independent autonomous body working together with the district’s community council for the benefit of the community and with the community.
With its motto being ‘Setting the cornerstone to an empowered and united community’, Anse Boileau community guardians’ mission is to work together with the community, for the community, in ensuring the continued progress of our district.

Its main objectives are:
• To provide help and advice to the district community council on matters of concern, interest and relevance to the district;
• Propose and implement projects and programmes aimed at contributing to the living, education, health and general welfare and well-being of the community and participate in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of said projects;
• Devise and implement fund-raising activities, and generally engender the spirit of unity and cooperation in the community.
