Fundraiser for victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines |26 November 2013

‘Friends of Filipino students and parents’ from the International School Seychelles community are organising a sponsored walk to raise urgently needed funds for victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

The walk from Victoria to Beau Vallon will take place on Saturday November 30.

In accordance with police instructions, the sponsored Walk will start at the Stad Popiler car park in Victoria at 7am and cross over to Beau Vallon via Saint Louis.  Completion of the route will be validated on the form by the police at the start, in Victoria, and at the finish, in Beau Vallon.

All money raised from this sponsored walk will be sent directly to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders), who are already heavily involved in the relief operations that have begun in the Philippines.

MSF’s team of 137 doctors, nurses and other specialist medical personnel are working in distressing conditions, delivering aid and medical treatment to physically and mentally wounded people who have lost everything.

The receipt from MSF’s group co-coordinating their humanitarian mission in Philippines will be made available shortly after the payment is sent.

All are welcomed to join the walk and support the disaster-relief efforts. You can walk with us, sponsor a walker, or just give a donation. Whichever it is, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.
