R5.4 billion budget proposed for 2014 |03 December 2013
The national budget for 2014, which was published as a supplement to the Official Gazette dated Tuesday November 26, 2013, will amount to R5,400,510,000.
The ministry with the biggest allocation remains Health (R535,401,000), followed by the Ministry of Education with R439,793,000.
Other significant sums of money will cater for benefits and approved programmes of the Social Security Fund (R530,064,000), social programmes from central government (R357,939,000) transfers to the public sector (R732,549,000).
