James Omath is the lucky winner of a brand new Hyundai Eon, the star prize of Cable & Wireless’ (CWS) mega lottery.

He received the keys to his new car from CWS chief executive Charles Hammond on Friday at the Exiles Club.

Mr Omath said he was shocked when he got the call informing him of the good news but he is very happy with his prize.

The second and third prize winners of the mega lottery were also present to receive their prizes.

Second prize winner Anthony François Dailoo won an Ipad3 plus one year subscription on click 2000.

Nathanielle Chang-Sam won a Samsung Galaxy S4 and a one-year subscription on Koze 700 as third prize.

The lottery was one of the activities to mark Cable & Wireless’ 120th anniversary.

Speaking at the event, Mr Hammond said the 120th anniversary of the company is a milestone which extends beyond the few months during which the campaign has been running.

“This celebration encases every single progress Cable & Wireless has made and these past few months have been a reminder of the path we have trodden and the hard work associated with it,” he said.

“We keep moving in the right direction along a path where we bring more development in Seychelles through communications and innovative solutions to our customers, and where we keep improving customer experience to meet their expectations.”

The mega lottery has been running for the past nine weeks, with radio quizzes about the company’s history on Paradise FM and PureFM.

A total of 450 prizes have been awarded to those who took part in the daily radio quizzes and weekly draws, while an amazing 22,533 customers bought 245,031 tickets for the lottery.
