Exciting year 2014 for Nisa, says chairman |12 December 2013

The year 2014 promises to be very exciting for the National Information Services Agency (Nisa), board chairman Rene Morel has said.

Mr Morel was speaking at Nisa’s annual lunch at the Coco d’Or hotel at Beau Vallon yesterday. Also present at the lunch were Nisa’s board members.

“The year 2014 is going to be an exciting year for Nisa and its staff. I know you have been working really hard over the last years and I would like you to double your efforts next year as we will be embarking on some new ventures,” said Mr Morel, who also thanked the workers whom he added have been showing more enthusiasm in their work.

Nisa’s chief executive Merline Volcère thanked the workers for their hard work, saying they needed to be congratulated for a job well done during a successful year 2013.

She also urged all staff to continue giving their best to help Nisa develop into the agency we all want it to become.

On behalf of all staff, chief photographer Patrick Joubert thanked the board members and Nisa management for the lunch and for the beautiful presents which he said all staff have enjoyed.

He also called on fellow staff members to maintain this high level of professionalism in their work in the weeks leading to the end of the year 2013 and added that they are all looking forward to embark on the new ventures.

Staff also received certificates for attending different training during the course of the year.

Nisa was created in April 2010 by President James Michel as a corporate body with financial autonomy to publish the Seychelles Nation newspaper, among other services.

It was established through an Act approved by the National Assembly to provide information services in an efficient, objective, impartial and cost-effective manner to the public and state institutions.

Nisa also gives support to the printing and publishing industries, using state-of-the-art technology to help it contribute to developing the press section of the Seychelles mass media.
