Immigration and civil status honour long-serving staff |20 December 2013

What a better time than the festive season to honour your long-serving staff and show them your appreciation?

This is exactly what was done by the department of immigration and civil status which this week presented long service awards to a group of eight employees who have spent between 15 and 40 years in the service.

The award presentation ceremony took place at the Sea Front restaurant during the department’s end-of-year party.

Immigration director general Ronald Fock-Tave is the dean of the group and of his department as he has been in service for 40 long years. He joined the department in 1973, four years before colleague Vivian Labiche. If Mr Labiche has decided to retire after his 36-year spell in the civil service, Mr Fock-Tave is still going strong and has promised that he will be around for some more years.

Two other employees – Myriam Télémaque and Marietta Labrosse – have spent 35 years with the immigration and civil status department while Marie Harray and Paul Didon have been in their posts for 25 and 20 years respectively.

Francis Vadivello and Joeliff Yocette complete the queue with 15 years each.

The long-serving employees were rewarded with certificates and cash prizes presented by the Minister for Internal Affairs and Transport Joël Morgan.

Minister Morgan has thanked the awardees for their long service, hard work, faithfulness and dedication and has asked them to continue being an example for their fellow employees.
