Centre Mont Royale closes residential services |24 December 2013

Centre Mont Royal has closed its residential services for 2013. And to mark this occasion the centre organised a tea party last Friday for its staff, clients and parents of clients.

The tea party included Christmas carols presented by patients and staff of the centre.

A video was aired to show the progress made by the centre for the last 15 years.

“I will like to congratulate all the staff for their continuous support and the patients for your will power to overcome your addictions,” Robert Moumou, the director of the centre, said.

He also gave a review of this year’s progress and the downside that they had to face.

The event, hosted at the North East Point Hospital where the centre is temporarily based, also marked  the centre’s 15th year commemoration activity by honouring Gilles Nageon De Lestang and Marja  Karjalaien for their tremendous contribution in setting up the centre.

As Ms Karjalaien was not present, Mr Nageon accepted the shield as a token of appreciation presented by Mr Moumou.

Mr Nageon was the director of the drug and alcohol task force (presently drug and alcohol council) and was the main initiator and founding father of the centre.
