Young Ambassadors for Christ graduate |31 December 2013

A group of 18 young people have received their certificate after undergoing training to be young ambassadors for Christ (Yac).

The graduation took place on Saturday at the Pentecostal Church, Riverside, Bel Eau.

The Yac course is among one of the programmes organised by the Everlasting Love Ministry (Elm) that lasted for eight months. This is a youth programme aimed at giving the young people a solid foundation and training them to be real role models for the society.

For the first time this year two groups took part in the programme -- one on La Digue and one on Mahé.

During the graduation there were praise and worship and performances by the graduates themselves.

The young ambassadors are Cindy Alcindor, Nathifa Athanase, Solana Athanase, Maryila Dorlin, Chantal Ellen, Kadiatou Jabbie, Vanessa Juliette, Mathilda Jeanne, Kelly Laporte, Valentina Jeannevole, Mendy Moul, Elisha Nibourette, Brenda Payet, Natasia Payet, Rondy Payet, Kelly Stravens, Marie-Eve Stravens and Trevor Stravens.

During the ceremony the best among the ambassadors were awarded for best theory, best practical, best effort, best project and best discipline.

“Throughout the course the students were awarded points for each exam and projects that they did. I would like to frankly say that it was a difficult task for me to count the marks and I had to wait for the last project to be turned in for me to know who won the trophy for the overall best,” Jude Fred, the chairman for Elm, said.

And it was Marie-Eve Stravens from La Digue who won the Best Overall for the Yac 2013.

In a vote of thanks the students thanked Mr Fred, the instructor, the Pentecostal Church and all those who have helped them to be there on their graduation day.
After the ceremony all joined together to cut a cake to celebrate the occasion.
