Police Communiqué: Update on murder and death cases |11 January 2014

The police have reported that a 51-year-old man has been arrested and is being detained as suspect in the double murder case of Gina Emmanuel and her unborn son.

The suspect, who was arrested on Thursday night in the area of English River, has been brought before court and is now being remanded for 14 days while the police continue with their investigation.

The very same man is also being investigated for a sexual assault and attempted murder case which reportedly occurred in the Old Port area in the evening of January 1, 2014.
 
A 40-year-old lady from Forêt Noir reported the incidents to the police on Thursday.

The police have also reported that the 26-year-old lady of La Batie, wife of Elvis Suzette, the man who died in the intensive care unit of the Seychelles Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday January 8 as a result of a stab wound, has been remanded until January 23.

The lady is being treated as suspect to murder offence. She appeared before the court for the first time on Thursday.

Postmortem carried on Elvis' body yesterday morning revealed that he died from shock, a dissected artery and internal bleeding.

As for the 37-year-old man of Rochon, the driver of the van involved in the fatal accident where Kenneth Louise of Corgate Estate lost his life, he also appeared before the court yesterday and is being remanded until Monday January 13.
