Family Fun Park nears completion |14 January 2014

Spending time with family and friends is a great way to socialise and to ease the mind of the daily routines.

A new facility, the Family Fun Park, is under construction and it will offer activities for families to enjoy themselves.

Situated next to the Peace Park, the Family Fun Park was supposed to open its doors in December last year but its opening has been delayed as work nears completion.

Talking to Seychelles Nation yesterday, Yves Choppy, principal secretary for project planning and implementation in the Ministry of Land Use and Housing, said “construction work was affected by the weather”.

“Work is expected to be completed by the end of January but we do not have a specific date as to when the park will be open to members of the public,” Mr Choppy said.

He added that they have still not decided whether to fence the area or put railing.

Mr Choppy also added that they are still in the process of selecting a management team to run the Family Fun Park.

As can be seen in the accompanying photographs, some of the toys have already been installed in the Family Fun Park which will also have an ice rink.
