A new agreement has been signed which will allow corporate service providers and attorneys to provide a more complex and profitable solution for their clients.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the Bar Association of Seychelles (Bas) and the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone on Saturday at the Sunset Beach Hotel, Glacis.

Bas president Anthony Derjacques and the chief executive officer of the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone, Peter Fort, signed the MoU in the presence of Shankar Bharathan, the business development manager of the International Companies of Ras Al Khaimah and members of Bas.

“Corporate service providers and attorneys provide a variety of different tools and solution for their clients. With this agreement they will be able to provide a more complex and profitable solution for their clients,” said Mr Fort after the signing.

He added that when the service sector in a country grows and prospers, the economy of that country grows as well and every person in that country benefits from it.

Mr Derjacques said the agreement will allow attorneys in Seychelles to have contact not only with firms operating in the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone but also within the UAE and in the Arab world in general.

“This understanding allows us to explore areas of mutual interests not only to the lawyers but to the clientele of the lawyers,” he said.

The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone is located in Ras Al Khaimah and is one of the fastest growing free trade zones in the UAE. It is a part of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah. It was established in the year 2000. During these years the free trade zone has seen phenomenal growth and has attracted more than 7000 business enterprises from over 160 countries across the globe. Its vision is to achieve global brand recognition as a premium investment agency where customers find the optimal business solutions to their needs.

The free trade zone’s mission is to attract and maximise the growth of value-added, know-how based, technologically advanced, and innovative businesses in Ras Al Khaimah, and to help the UAE companies internationalise via a global office network.

Customers are the major stakeholders in the zone’s success, and it is constantly striving to provide them with better business solutions, infrastructure, technology and support. They have adopted a customer-centred approach and a 'can do' attitude.
