Seychelles wishes People’s Republic of China a Happy New Year of the Horse |01 February 2014

On behalf of the government and people of Seychelles, President James Michel has extended his warmest and most sincere wishes for peace, prosperity and good health to the People’s Republic of China and its president, H.E. Xi Jinping, on the occasion of the Chinese New year.

President Michel took the opportunity to pay tribute to the Chinese community in Seychelles and the pivotal contribution that they make to the Seychellois society.

The President noted that Seychelles was privileged to have a dependable and trustworthy partner like China.

“There is no better way to usher in the Year of the Horse than by celebrating the special ties that China and Seychelles share. Welcoming the New Year as part of the celebrations of the China-Seychelles partnership is symbolic and important for the Seychellois people because the values that define the Seychelles and China relationship are those which a tight-knit family shares,” stated the President.
