Serbian edition of Mancham’s new book confirmed |10 February 2014

The Belgrade-based European Centre for Peace and Development has agreed to publish a Serbian edition of the new book ‘SEYCHELLES – The saga of a small Nation navigating through the cross-currents of a big world’ which the founding President of Seychelles James R. Mancham is expected to publish on the occasion of his 75th birthday on August 11, 2014.

The European Centre for Peace and Development (ECPD) is an international post-graduate education and research institution with headquarters in Belgrade and was established in 1983 as a regional European Centre of the UN University for Peace with the tasks and objectives "to organise and carry out the corresponding post-graduates studies, research activities and dissemination of knowledge which contribute to the promotion of peace, development and international cooperation”.

This year the ECPD Academic Council decided to organise the celebration of its 30th jubilee in October alongside the 9th ECPD's International Conference.

Mr Mancham has been an active member of the ECPD Academic Council for more than 15 years and the publication of his new book on the occasion of the 30th jubilee will be an acknowledgement of ECPD's appreciation for his contribution to the objectives of the organisation.

At the moment, the secretary-general of the ECPD is Professor Negoslav Ostojic. For more information on the activities of ECPD - please see website www.ecpd.org.rs.

In an e-mail to Mr Mancham yesterday, Professor Ostojic states: “We will do our best to give our contribution to the occasion of your 75th birthday and thus clearly show how much we appreciate everything you have done for us over the past years. I am particularly looking forward to our conference in October to celebrate together the achievement of ECPD but also publication of your book which will be available to all interested readers in former Yugoslavia.”
