ASP brings services closer to public through new website |13 February 2014

The Agency for Social Protection has launched its new website – www.aspseychelles.sc

It was its chief executive Wallace Cosgrow who launched the website on Monday this week in a short ceremony attended by senior management officers from the agency as well as board members.

Speaking at the event, Mr Cosgrow said the initiative to launch a new website started less than a year ago.

“We have found it necessary to allow members of the public to get access to the services we offer and to get the required information on the agency,” he said.

People can contact us on the website, they will not have to do it through a letter or wait when we are in the districts. We want it to be an interactive platform, he added.

The website will be a platform to bring the services offered by the agency closer to members of the public.

Members of the public can get access to information on the various benefits, their application, rates and payment, social welfare, monthly report, e-services, regulations act and contact details of the ASP.

They can also get the latest news and press releases relating to the agency and can also share their suggestions on the website.

The new increase in the social security benefits rates as well as home carers allowance which was announced in the 2014 budget address have also been published on the website.

In a press release, the ASP said it will ensure that the website remains dynamic so that members of the public can get as much up-to-date information as possible.
