Speaker Herminie discusses new possibilities with ambassadors |14 February 2014

National Assembly Speaker Dr Patrick Herminie has met the new ambassadors of Germany and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and explored possibilities the country’s parliament could benefit from.

Honourable Herminie and German ambassador Andreas Peschke have agreed to do the necessary so that the National Assembly can benefit from training held under the International Exchange Programmes of the German Bundestag, the national parliament of Germany.

They also discussed the possibilities of exchange visits between members of the two parliaments.

When he met UAE ambassador Abdulla Ibrahim Al Suwaidi, Honourable Herminie agreed to establish a working relationship between the National Assembly and the Federal National Council, the legislative arm of the UAE.

Mr Al Suwaidi took the opportunity to extend an invitation to Speaker Herminie to visit the Federal National Council. This visit will be an opportunity for Seychelles to seek support for further infrastructural development of the National Assembly of Seychelles.

Ambassadors Peschke and Al Suwaidi presented their credentials to President James Michel earlier this week.
