Air Seychelles Record turn-out at cabin crew recruitment drive |18 February 2014

Air Seychelles last week saw its largest ever cabin crew recruitment drive, demonstrating that the airline is fast becoming the leading employer of choice for Seychellois job seekers.

Air Seychelles attracted more than 200 men and women for the one-day recruitment drive at the University of Seychelles at the Anse Royale Polytechnic campus. The airline is seeking to fill 20 vacancies.

Applicants were given the opportunity to meet airline managers, who provided comprehensive information and advice on the role and life of cabin crew and the dynamics of serving guests at 30,000 feet.

Selected applicants will undergo a six-week training programme at Etihad Airways’ state-of-the-art Training Academy in Abu Dhabi, to be ready for service in time for the Air Seychelles’ planned international expansions in 2014.

Last December, Air Seychelles announced plans to expand its route network to include twice weekly flights to Paris and the acquisition of a narrow-body Airbus aircraft to be used on new regional services.

Francisca Moonsamy, Air Seychelles’ head of cabin operations, said: “We are thrilled with the great turn-out. It is always a pleasure to meet talented Seychellois embarking on their careers.  As we continue to grow, Air Seychelles offers a great career path.”

“We are fortunate to be spoiled for choice and we have identified some great potential employees who will contribute energy, enthusiasm and Creole flair to our award-winning team.”

Air Seychelles currently flies to the international destinations of Mauritius, Johannesburg, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong.  The airline also operates numerous domestic routes within the Seychelles.

In 2013, Air Seychelles was named the second best airline in Africa according to the prestigious Skytrax rankings. Its inflight crew was rated the third best in Africa, a category in which the airline had no previous ranking.

In January the airline also clinched the coveted Skytrax 4-star airline rating.
