Seychelles congratulates Egypt on adoption of new constitution |21 February 2014

On behalf of the government and the people of Seychelles, President James Michel congratulated the government and the people of Egypt on the occasion of the adoption of a new constitution.

The President noted that the adoption of the new constitution is “an important milestone in shaping Egypt’s political and socio-economic development for generations to come. It is an important step in guaranteeing the aspirations of the Egyptian people and in firmly solidifying Egypt’s place as a vibrant and prosperous democracy centered on the rule of law”.

In his message President Michel also stated that the people of Seychelles “stand in solidarity with the people of Egypt in this new chapter of their history as they take decisive steps towards reconciliation and implementation of the rights and freedom guaranteed by this new constitution.”
