Anonymous benefactor donates to Foyer de la Providence |25 February 2014

Young residents of the Foyer de la Providence (St Elizabeth convent) have received a donation from an anonymous sponsor.

It was Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports Minister Vincent Meriton who handed over the donation to Sister Rosemila Tolbize last week.

Staff of the Ministry of Social Affairs, other sisters and staff of the Foyer de la Providence were also present.

“Today we are here to show you our acknowledgement for the good deeds you are doing for the children and we hope that it enhances our partnership,” Minister Meriton said when he handed over the donation.

Minister Meriton took the opportunity to thank the benefactor for the gesture and for the support in helping to provide for the children in the orphanage so that they can achieve good things in their lives.

“On behalf of the children and all the sisters here I would like to thank you minister and your ministry for your support. I would like to point out that without you the anonymous benefactor would have not come to us and we appreciate his charitable gesture. We are happy to see that you are supporting us and that the donation will benefit the children,” said Sister Rosemila.

The donation comprises objects that the orphanage had listed as its needs after the minister’s office liaised with them after the anonymous benefactor had conveyed his wishes to donate to the orphanages in Seychelles.

The orphanage has received a fridge, a washing machine, a flat screen television, cooking pans, educational materials and toys.

Minister Meriton told Seychelles Nation that the benefactor will also be donating to the Foyer de Nazareth at Anse Etoile and the Foyer de la Solitude at La Misère.
