New CEO ready to take Air Seychelles to greater heights |28 February 2014

“Even if Air Seychelles has got four-star status, we need to behave like a five-star airline in everything we do even at touch point, from the time the customer engages with us to the time he gets off with his baggage at the other destination,” the airline’s new chief executive Manoj Papa has said.

“The great thing about Air Seychelles is we have a chance of positioning ourselves as the best airline in Africa. Our cabin crew has a chance of positioning themselves as the best cabin crew and not just in Africa but also as we grow globally,” Mr Papa told the media after paying a courtesy call on President James Michel at State House yesterday.

He said this was what he told about 30 cabin crew members who have been trained on a coaching session during a meeting with them.

“It’s a great achievement being a four-star airline but also a great opportunity to us as an airline once we start displaying five-star behaviour and we position us really well around the world,” the new CEO said.

He reminded all that Air Seychelles is number two in Africa and that South African Airways has been holding this position for the last twelve years.

“I challenged the team of the airline yesterday morning. Let’s take away that award from them. The opportunity is cargo and we can be positioned as the best cargo operational within Africa. I challenged the team on a few stuff like how we put out the plan together and implement the way forward,” said Mr Papa.
