UK Sport delegation on working visit |17 March 2014

A three-man delegation led by Elias Musangeya of United Kingdom (UK) Sport will be on a working visit to Seychelles between March 17-22, the Paralympic Association of Seychelles (Pas) has announced.

The aim of the delegation’s visit is to help strengthen the technical, operational and leadership capacity of officials and coaches of the Paralympic movement.

During the mission, training workshops in classification and in the disciplines of boccia, goal ball and sitting volleyball will be held by Jebali Halim and Dominique Bizimana respectively.

Sessions on strategic planning and governance will be conducted by Musangeya for the benefit of officials of Pas and those of other local sports federations and associations.

It is to be recalled that UK Sport in conjunction with the British high commission in Seychelles facilitated a two-week mission here last year to introduce Paralympism and set the wheels in motion for the setting up of Pas which was launched in July 2013 and granted affiliation to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in November of the same year.

Pas would like once again to extend its sincere thanks to UK Sport, the British high commission in Seychelles, the National Sports Council and the National Council for the Disabled for their support towards the realisation of this second mission, the outcome of which is expected to enhance professionalism and generate even more enthusiasm and interest within the ranks of the Paralympic movement.
