Consuls gather in Seychelles for biennial meet |21 April 2014

The biennial Seychelles honorary consuls conference will take place at the Kempinski Seychelles resort at Baie Lazare on April 23-24.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and it will be officially opened tomorrow evening by President James Michel.

Michel Sidibe, executive director of UNAIDS who will be in Seychelles from April 21-23 will take part in the conference under the theme ‘Seychelles leadership – A shared vision’.

While in Seychelles Mr Sidibe will meet relevant stakeholders and meet the local media during a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday April 23.

The different presentations during the two-day conference will focus on the success of the Seychelles macro-economic reform programme, the blue economy concept, Seychelles’ tourism policy and marketing, Seychelles’ candidature for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations’ Security Council 2017-2018, and business environment in Seychelles.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will open its doors to the public tomorrow at 10am for its annual open day.
