National airline celebrates year of achievement with trade partners |21 April 2014

Air Seychelles hosted a dinner of appreciation recently for Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and travel agents, in recognition of their loyalty and support during a record-breaking 2013.

The reception took place at the Hilton Northolme Resort and Spa, where the airline’s sales and marketing team and senior management met with an elite selection of members of the local tourism in an atmosphere of conviviality.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of certificates and awards. Air Seychelles’ general manager commercial, Justin Gosling, presented certificates to the travel agents and DMCs present.

Air Seychelles’ chief executive Manoj Papa presented awards to the top performers. Winning for top-performing travel agent was Mason’s Air Travel, followed by Seashell Travel.  Mason’s Travel also secured top-performing DMC honours with 7 Degrees South clinching second place.

Mr Papa said: “Our success is your success and I am particularly grateful to you for all your effort and hard work in 2013. I would like to personally thank each of you for your excellent cooperation and support and I look forward to the same dedication as we continue to develop new markets in the future.”

He added that travel agents and tour operators will be the airline’s ambassadors for the new Air Seychelles product and service offering with equity partner Etihad Airways and codeshare partners.

Mr Papa concluded: “I want to thank you again for your trust and belief in the national airline as it strives for excellence; we are indeed honoured and encouraged by your presence here today.”

George Romain, manager Seashell Travel, had this to say: “We are very happy to be here and to learn that Air Seychelles has plans to expand its network and frequencies this year. We are particularly thrilled to hear that the launch of Paris will be announced soon. That is great news to us travel agents. I think the airline will do well on this route as the French traffic continues to be our main market out of Europe and we give our full support.”
