Natcof rewards founding members |23 April 2014

As part of activities to mark its 20 years of existence, the National Consumers’ Forum (Natcof) has rewarded its founding members.

Most of the 74 members who helped put up the consumer rights’ association back in 1994, and of whom four have unfortunately passed away, were present at a small reception yesterday evening at the Club 55 on Manglier Street. They were each presented with a small token.

Also present were Natcof’s chairperson Raymonde Course, executive committee members and the director of the Consumer International Regional Office for Africa Onica Makwakwa.

One of the founding members who was also Natcof’s first chairperson Daniella Adeline reminisced about the very first meetings they held at the Maison du Peuple 20 years ago.

She remarked that if the association is celebrating its 20th anniversary and has made great progress since its creation, this is due to the commitment of the founding members.
She called on them to go out and attract new and young members to the forum.

Another member, Andreix Rosalie, had some words of thanks for Mrs Course who he said has played a catalytic role in the development of the organisation.
He also thanked Mrs Makwakwa to have honoured the anniversary celebrations with her presence.

Natcof today regroups more than 800 members. It also acts as mother organisation to the Natcof Young Consumer Group.
