STC thanks distributors |04 June 2014

The Seychelles Trading Company (STC) recently hosted a reception for its distributors on Mahé.

The event, held at the Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa at Beau Vallon, was a way of thanking retailers who have voluntarily registered as the company’s distributors since the launch of its
Distributorship Agreement.

Also present at the reception were STC chairman Charlie Morin and chief executive Veronique Laporte.

Over sixty retailers on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue have voluntarily registered as STC distributors, following the implementation of the new Distributorship Agreement which took effect on February 1, 2014.

STC believes that the event, which brought together the largest group of distributors based on Mahé, will enhance interaction levels with the company, including the STC board members and the company’s management team.

After the replacement of all the ‘franchise’ signboards, with the new ‘STC Distributor’ signboards in February, the STC has promised to work very closely with the distributors.

Many new improvements have come about with the introduction of this new accord including the reinforcement of partnerships to ensure availability of all STC products to meet the needs of customers in the various districts, availability and distribution of new products in the future.

The new contract has prevented the STC from being an exclusive distributor. This means that the retailers are now able to outsource commodities from other overseas suppliers or other local importers or wholesalers.

The agreement has also meant that STC does not fix any price. So the distributors will be free to decide at what rate they will retail goods bought from the STC.

However, the STC does advise its distributors on adequate pricing, especially for the essential basic commodities.

During the reception the top five distributors who were present at the ceremony received a token of appreciation from STC.

STC will shortly host its next distributorship cocktail on Praslin for its distributors from the inner island group (Praslin and La Digue).
