Faulty line insulator causes power interruption in north Mahé |25 June 2014

A faulty line insulator on the overhead line was responsible for the power interruption in parts of north Mahé between 4am and 11am yesterday.

The Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) said this in a press communiqué dated June 24, 2014.

The communiqué adds that customers in the areas of Glacis, Mare Anglaise and Beau Vallon suffered from power interruption between 4am and 11am yesterday.

It continues by saying that a line team had to conduct pole-top inspection over a wide area in Mare Anglaise in order to determine the exact location of the faulty insulator and to undertake repair works.

The PUC said it regrets the inconvenience experienced by its customers.
