African Press Organisation launches media award 2014 |26 June 2014

Journalists and bloggers in Seychelles, whether directly employed or working as freelancers, are being invited to take part in the African Press Organisation (APO) media award 2014.
The competition is open to African journalists working on the African continent, including Seyhcelles.

Candidates have to submit a story broadcast or published between January 2014 up to August 2014. All work submitted have to be in either English, French, Portuguese or Arabic in the form of a print publication, a television feature, a radio story, a website or a blog  for the African audience.

The winner will receive $500 a month for one year, a laptop and one intercontinental flight ticket to any destination of his or her choice as well as one year access to over 600 airport VIP lounges worldwide.

The second and third place winners will receive respectively $300 and $200 a month for a period of one year.
The work must consist of inspiring stories about Africa. Journalists can choose from a wide range of topics such as business, economy, technology, agriculture, health, energy, gender, tourism, motoring, aviation, not-for-profit issues, diplomacy, mining, entertainment among others.

The deadline for submission of entries is September 1, 2014. The finalists will be known on September 15, 2014 and the winners will be announced on September 29, 2014.
