Loyalty Awards London 2014 |09 July 2014

Cable Points brings international recognition to Seychelles

Cable Points, Cable & Wireless’ customer loyalty programme, has received three finalist awards in the Loyalty Awards London 2014.
The event was held on June 10 at Grosvenor House.

Cable Points has once more brought Seychelles much deserved recognition in the region, being one of only two African countries (the other being South Africa) to be nominated as finalists for this year’s awards.

“We are proud to be a finalist for three categories this time which has made us realise how hard we have worked to get here,” said Cable and Wireless’ (CWS) marketing intelligence manager, Herve Atayi.

“It is a great achievement which attests to our devotion in keeping our customers at the heart of all that we do.”
Cable Points was a finalist in the following three categories: best loyalty programme of the year for mobile in the Europe, Middle East and Africa; best short-term loyalty programme and best use of communications in a loyalty programme.

Cable Points was finalist for best loyalty programme for 2013 and was the only country in Africa to have been nominated.

“We have kept our position as having one of the leading loyalty programmes for mobile in the region,” Mr Atayi added.

Cable Points has been in place since 2011 and has grown to include many innovative ways of rewarding residential post-paid and prepaid customers, which includes redeeming points for phone credit, movie premiere tickets, air miles with Etihad Airways and Air Seychelles, Cable Gigs, as well as various items found in the Cable Points rewards catalogue.

Customers are also rewarded for paying their bills on time and for using OneBill, a service that allows CWS customers to receive all their monthly bills in one combined statement instead of several statements.

“The other two awards are a clear indication of our success in other areas of our rewards programme which includes a focus short-term programmes and efficiency of our communications,” he explained.

The most recent short-term Cable Points reward programme was the Lucky Lottery which ran in May and June of this year. It followed a previous one held last year for the 120-year anniversary. Both lottery gained massive participation from the public and “kept customers engaged with the company in a positive way”.

To communicate with customers the Cable Points team uses the media, SMS, brochures, the CWS website and Facebook page, as well as the Cable Points rewards catalogue, keeping the messages simple and offers exciting.

Cable Points is a tool used by Cable and Wireless to reward customers and this recognition only serves to drive the company to do more for customers so that they have a better experience when using the services.
