Beauty queen sharpens skills in French |24 July 2014

Apart from working on her project and taking part in activities hosted locally, Miss Seychelles ... Another World 2014 Camilla Estico is also following classes to better her fluency in French.

She received her membership card recently from the director of Alliance Française Fouad Laulloo in the presence of representatives from the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB).

Our reigning beauty queen can now borrow French books and DVDs from the Alliance Française library during her reign.
As a member of Alliance Française, Miss Estico will also be invited to all events organised by Alliance Française.

She will presently be following private sessions at Alliance Française until September, after which she will be joining French classes being offered there.

The aim is to be able to speak French, which is one of our national languages, more fluently by December when she will be taking part in the Miss World beauty pageant.

Speaking after the card presentation, Mr Laulloo said it is an honour as director to have the country’s reigning beauty queen, who is also an ambassador for Seychelles, as a student at Alliance Française.

STB’s deputy chief executive Nathalie Didon expressed words of thanks to the team at Alliance Française for this initiative and for their generous support.

“I believe that it is important for Miss Seychelles to be more fluent in the French language as she will be interacting with various people throughout her journey. The benefits are numerous -- she will be communicating fluently, feel a sense of connection to the crowd, learn, understand and appreciate various cultures. This will be of great advantage and a bonus for her during the upcoming Miss World beauty pageant,” she added.
