Seychelles’ men’s and women’s doubles teams have progressed through to the last 16 stage at the ongoing Commonwealth Games being held in Glasgow, Scotland.

Georgie Cupidon and Steve Malcouzane, the latter who had earlier in the day injured his ankle, came out victorious in their round-of-32 match on Wednesday evening. On the women’s side, Juliette Ah-Wan and Alisen Camille teamed up to face Falkland Islands’ Sofia Arkhipkina and Anna Luxton. In table tennis, the men’s doubles team of Godfrey Sultan and Nicholas Esther lost their round-of-32 match against Malaysia’s Leong Chee Feng and Foo Duley on a 2-3 (8-11, 12-10, 6-11, 11-9, 10-12) score.

Meanwhile, in track and field athletics, Joanne Loutoy competed in the women’s 200m heats and managed a sixth place finish with a time of 25.85 seconds. Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare came first in 22.99 seconds.
