Domestic airport to be revamped |04 August 2014

The domestic airport is to be revamped in line with the modernisation plan of Air Seychelles’ domestic service.
The Minister for Home Affairs and Transport Joel Morgan, who is also the chairperson of Air Seychelles, made this announcement recently when speaking to the press during the welcoming ceremony for the airline’s two new Twin Otter aircraft.

“It has been a while since we have been working on a plan for the domestic airport. We already have a finalised plan, but due to problems we faced with the tender bids, we had to re-launch the tender process and we are now assessing the bids so that we can forward them to the board,” Minister Morgan said.

According to Minister Morgan the new domestic airport will have a new ticketing area, baggage handling area and a new service that will put costumers in comfort while using the domestic airport.

“We will have a floor on top where there will be a shop and a lounge that will cater for passengers travelling to the islands or waiting for their international flight,” Minister Morgan said, adding that the domestic airport will have new features that will rank our domestic airport as the best within the region.
