MCB first bank in Seychelles to accept UPI cards |18 August 2014

The Mauritius Commercial Bank (Seychelles) Limited (MCB) is as from today, August 18, 2014, the first bank in Seychelles to accept Union Pay International (UPI) cards.

With the increase in the number of visitors to Seychelles from the Asian region especially from China, the bank is catering for payment services of this market. This strategic partnership with UPI is being seen by MCB and its partners in the tourism sector as one which opens Seychelles to a world of new opportunities.

UPI cards will be accepted at all MCB ATMs and Point of Sale terminals, giving the UPI cardholder access to over 600 payment gateways throughout the islands and gives MCB merchants access to a card which has the largest cardholder base in the world with over 300 member institutions worldwide. UPI cards are accepted in over 140 countries.
