Takamaka Villa, a simple yet chic establishment |06 September 2014

Visitors do not only come to our shores for our unique flora and fauna, the sand, sun and sea. They seek tranquillity and the ideal soothing environment for relaxation.

The southern part of Seychelles' main island of Mahe, offers that ideal soothing environment for relaxation, in particular the quiet surroundings of the Takamaka district.

Located in the same district is the Takamaka Villa, an upcoming establishment of simplicity and elegance, with a mix of modern and traditional touch to it. Set in a beautiful surrounding, Takamaka Villa is great for a private family holiday.

Owned by the Zaccari family, Takamaka Villa is set to open soon. It is made up of four double rooms on the ground floor and one family suite on the first floor.

All rooms are inter-connected and are equipped with air condition, a fan, internet access and a television.

The villa which is located within walking distance to the beach is operated on a bed and breakfast basis.

Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St Ange visited this establishment last week and held discussions with renowned 90-year-old journalist Alfonso Zaccari.

Minister St Ange was then given a tour of the villa and saw the final work being done on the first floor, after which he commended the owner and his team for adding a Creole touch to the villa and for taking this new step in the tourism industry.

The family will soon venture into other facilities which include an à la carte restaurant specialising in international cuisine, especially the Italian cuisine.

The official opening of the Takamaka Villa is set for the end of September.

"Seychellois joining in and playing an active role in the tourism industry of our country is the only way to safeguard this vital industry that is today known as the pillar of the Seychelles economy," Minister St Ange said as he congratulated the 90-year-old hotel owner for his continued support towards developing tourism in Seychelles.
