Barclays Seychelles is 55 years old: Offers better business banking deals |08 September 2014

On the occasion of its 55th year of existence in Seychelles the Barclays Bank has re-launched its business banking service with new packages on offer.

The Bank has announced that with a new form of business banking, the sector will offer service which is completely different from corporate banking. It will primarily benefit offshore and medium-sized businesses which the chairman of the bank’s board of directors Jean Weeling-Lee has described as the “motor of the economy”.

Also present at the double celebration at the Savoy Resort and Spa at Beau Vallon on Friday afternoon were the Barclays’ acting managing director Kwabena Korantang, commercial director Antoine Esther, other staff members as well numerous business customers.

The honour of cutting the birthday cake went to two of them, Andrew Padayachy and Lira Jupiter.
Mr Korantang described the event as “a happy and important occasion celebrated with businesses partners who have grown together with the bank”.

Explaining the new form of business banking, Mr Esther has qualified it as “a completely personal support and specialist product”. He has said that the new product is part of a customer relationship driven strategy which has come as a result of a customer study proposition and market study for local as well as foreign clients. He believes the ultimate result will be more customer value.

“Business banking is for you. It is not an end door but will be always tailor-made according to your needs,” he told the bank’s clients.

Among the products which will be included in the new package is an EMV (Europay MasterCard and Visa) debit card which will permit multiple applications and transactions in any currency, and a prepaid one which permits another person to access cash from your account.

As concluded by chairman Weeling-Lee, it is hoped that Barclays’ new initiative “brings business banking closer to the customer and makes the bank get better and better”.
