UNWTO/ICAO ministerial conference on tourism and air transport in Africa postponed |13 September 2014

The First UNWTO/ICAO ministerial conference on tourism and air transport in Africa scheduled to take place here later this year has been postponed to April 2015.

A communiqué issued jointly by Marcia Favilla, the UNWTO executive director operational programmes and institutional relations, and Boubacar Djibo, the ICAO director Air Transport Bureau, confirmed that the historic UNWTO/ICAO meeting for tourism and transport ministers will not be held here from October 13-15, 2014 as planned.

The communiqué reads: "On behalf of the government of Seychelles, the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), we would like to inform you that the UNWTO/ICAO ministerial conference on tourism and air transport in Africa, planned to be held in Seychelles, from October 13-15, 2014, has now been rescheduled to April 22-24, 2015, in the framework of the regional commission for Africa, the annual ministerial meeting of UNWTO African member states.”

It adds: “We thank you very much for having confirmed your participation in this important event and we look forward to seeing you in Seychelles in April next year".
