SCCI happy with Seychelles hosting ‘Food & Hotel’ exhibition |22 September 2014

Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Marco Francis has said the chamber is happy the country will be hosting the ‘Food and Hotel Seychelles’ from November 28-30, 2014.

He has described the exhibition as a continuation of what the chamber has been doing – linking business to business. He also made reference to the House and Hospitality expo held last June and which he described as a great success.

Mr Francis said this during a press conference organised recently by the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange at the ministry’s headquarters at Espace building, to officially announce the ‘Food and Hotel Seychelles’ exhibition.

“We are linking business to young entrepreneurs, small businessmen, medium-size businesses and we are giving them access to new technologies, new products and also new contacts in doing business,” said Mr Francis.

He said local businesses can opt for joint-ventures with the foreign companies and even partnership.

“The aim of this exhibition is about linking our businesses with other fellow businesses. But as the minister said we want Seychelles to be the hub – the hub between Asia and Africa. So we want Seychelles to be the centre. And this is the game, this is our strategy,” he said.

Mr Francis said this will be the first such event and they are expecting the biggest one in May next year as the ‘Food & Hotel Seychelles’ is planned to be an annual event coinciding with the FetAfrik.

He said if the exhibition is a success then Seychelles could become a centre for exhibitions between Asia and Africa.
