Geffroy farm supports Miss Seychelles … Another World’s healthy living project |23 September 2014

Miss Seychelles … Another World 2014 Camilla Estico has brought a new partner onboard for her project which aims at promoting healthy living and curbing the rise of obesity.

The new partner is Jean-Paul Geffroy, the owner of the Geffroy farm, and last Friday Miss Estico, Seychelles Tourism Board chief executive Sherin Naiken and Mr Geffroy signed an agreement to this effect.

This was done in the presence of two of the three families who are taking part in Miss Estico’s project, Nirmal Jivan Shah and STB’s representatives.

Under the agreement signed, the Geffroy farm will supply the three families with fresh local vegetables on a weekly basis for eight weeks – the duration of the project. The farm will also supply Miss Estico with fresh local vegetables for one year during her reign.

The families chosen for the projects are Ernesta (comprising seven members), Kilindo and Hoareau (both made up of four members).

“Through the project initiated by Miss Estico and which we at the STB are supporting, it is raising a lot of awareness around the country, and of course we would not be able to do the project without getting partners onboard. Partners are valuable and very important to us. We are very glad that you have joined us in this cause and that you have willingly approached us to offer your support,” said Miss Naiken when he thanked Mr Geffroy.

On her part, Miss Estico said: “It all started with an idea and I would like to thank the STB for its full support with this project. I believe this is just the beginning and hopefully it can create a domino effect that other families can adopt this healthy living journey and habits.”
