National Assembly - Minister Morgan in Question Time |21 October 2014

The Minister for Home Affairs and Transport, Joel Morgan, will be present for question time during this week’s sitting of the National Assembly.

The minister will be questioned on the following: the revision of the scheme of service for police officers; reasons behind the employment of a foreign Deputy Commissioner of Police; remuneration and allowances for firemen; the possibility of same-day flight connections to Praslin for its residents flying home from Mauritius and progress achieved on the construction of Nourrice Road.

Moreover, two motions have been tabled for this sitting: Emmanuel Fideria, representative of the Les Mamelles district, will call for the executive to review the process by which legal aid is administered, while the leader of the opposition David Pierre will move the House to consider the introduction of a comprehensive Anti-Corruption Act which provides for the establishment of an Anti-Corruption Commission.
