Voting on for best Cable Tune artists and song |31 October 2014

 

 

 

Voting for the 5th Cable Tune Award 2014 is now open.
This music award presentation that rewards artists will take place on the night of Saturday November 29 at the Espace building. It is run by Cable & Wireless (CWS) in collaboration with the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) and other sponsors.

The public has had as of Wednesday this week until 8pm on the night of the award presentation on November 29 to vote for their best artists and their best song from six different categories.

Artists or their songs are nominated for the Cable Tune Award based on the sales of their songs in cable tune from January to October 2014.
Winners from each category will be based on the votes cast by the public.

In the best male artist category the artists nominated are Jakim, T-Tray, Ion Kid, Smash Kid, Regi, Travis and Xtra Big whereas in the female category the nominees are Lahna, Sandra and Tania.

The best group category comprise Solda 3D, Swagg Tunes, KJ & Xtra Big, Lo Peron Production.

In the best single category the following songs have been nominated: ‘Million Butterfly’ by Lahna, Lanmour Enposib (Tania), Fo Lespwar (Ion Kid), Pri Dan Milye (T-Tray), Mon Depar (Smash Kid), Pa Ale (Regi), Anbras Mwan (Chico), Donn Mwan ou Lanmen (Xtra Big), Kreolite (Marathon), Dan Mon Lemonn (Travis), Enfiniman (Ruben), Depi ki Ou’n Ale (Jarimbah) e Mon’n Large (Nico).

In the best collaboration category the nominees are: Mon Pa en Sen (Jakim & Sandra), Keksoz  Drol (Dray D), ‘Facebook Friend’ (Jakayo & Jerry), Zoli Zonm (Reyz, Tania & Ion Kid), San Ou (Zioni & Ion Kid), Fatige (Jakim & Lahna), Koz Mon Fanm (Cus Man & Regi), Pet Siro (Solda 3D).
As for best new artist, the nominees are Lahna, Mr Character, Increase, Slegi, SQ.  

A small reception was held at Eden Casino on Eden Island on Wednesday where Albert Duncan, marketing executive of CWS, announced that the voting has begun.
Present at the ceremony were artists, sponsors and other guests.



According to Mr Duncan a person will be allowed to vote only once in each category, meaning he or she can send a total of six votes.

He or she will have to vote via SMS9688 plus an added coded number that each artist or song will have as identification reference.

Traditionally held at the Tequila Boom Discotheque for the past few years, this year’s open air award presentation ceremony on November 29 at the Espace building will be beamed live on SBC television.

All performers will be singing live accompanied by a live band. Apart from invited guests the public will be able to purchase tickets through accumulation and redeem of their cable points.

Other details about the possibility for other members of the public to attend will be communicated in due course.

The Cable Tune Award 2014 committee wish to thank all their related sponsorship partners for supporting local artists and also wish good luck to all artists nominated for the Cable Tune Award 2014.

The prizes for winners will include trophies, studio time recordings and airline tickets among others.

There are over 100 artists that are registered to the CWS Cable Tune that has as its motto Siport artis lokal (Support local artists).
