Mihin Lanka introduces third weekly flight to Seychelles |31 October 2014

Mihin Lanka’s third weekly flight from Colombo, Sri Lanka landed at the Seychelles International Airport yesterday afternoon.

Speaking to Seychelles NATION journalist at the airline’s headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the chairman and chief executive of Mihin Lanka (Private) Ltd Nishantha Ranatunga said the reason for an extra flight per week between the two countries is that the airline is doing well on the Seychelles route.

“It started seven to eight months back and we have seen that the airline is doing very well; we have close to 70 per cent cabin factor; we connect onward traffic about 50 per cent to other destinations and point to point the business has increased from 35-50 percent. So there is opportunity for Sri Lankans to travel to Seychelles and enjoy the culture, the heritage and the beaches there. Likewise people from Seychelles can come and enjoy Sri Lanka,” said Mr Ranatunga.

The chairman and CEO also spoke of other factors regarding the airline like Mihin Lanka’s partnership with Sri Lankan Airlines and being the official airline of the upcoming Food and Hotel exhibition at the end of November 2014 where a Sri Lankan company, CDC Events, is the main organiser.

Seychelles NATION will bring you a more detailed article on this event in a future issue.

The airline’s general sales agent for both Mihin Lanka and Sri Lankan Airlines in Seychelles is Vision Voyages Pty Ltd located at Ebrahim Building on Francis Rachel Street.
