Seychelles’ beauty queen leaves for Miss World pageant |20 November 2014

Miss Seychelles … Another World 2014 Camila Estico left Seychelles yesterday to take part in the Miss World beauty pageant which will take place in London on December 14.

Speaking to Seychelles NATION on the eve of her departure, Camila said all the grooming she has gone through locally since her crowning has helped boost her confidence and better prepared her for the forthcoming pageant.

“I already have my qualities and confidence which helped me won the local pageant but the grooming has given a boost to my confidence and the experiences I’ve lived have helped me to be able to stand more firmly on my own two feet and believe strongly in my healthy lifestyle project,” Camila said.

She said she’s had so many comments about Seychelles ranking in past pageants which has been in the 100s and has been asked if she thinks she can make a difference.

“That I say I don’t know and God only knows but I am confident and I am going there with a fighting and a winning spirit and I think this is enough to make me a winner and I am spiritually ready,” Camila said.

Camila will be in London from November 20 to December 14 when the pageant itself will take place.

Camila said she is going to London fully prepared, noting that her introductory video to be aired at the pageant has been filmed by South Africa BLCK Group and a member of which has also sponsored all her cocktail evening dresses and all other wardrobe requirements for the  big event.
She said she has been lucky to befriend a member of the group while researching for her healthy living project.

“The group not only showed interest in my project and my introductory video but also in helping me get ready for the pageant as well,” Camila said.

“In fact I believe that what would get me to the next level in Miss World is what I portray in the video.  It is not only about me saying my name but it is saying things about me while at the same time referring it to people. It is not only about me being Miss Seychelles with a crown and a title but about me being a beauty queen with a purpose and I think the BLCK Group did that excellently,” Camila said.

Camila left alone for London but will be joined closer to the big day by Seychelles Tourism Board officials and her parents for support.
