Airtel donates to Seychelles Hospital |21 November 2014

On the occasion of Men’s Day on Wednesday, telecommunication company Airtel made a donation to the Seychelles Hospital.

The donation of fans, nebulizers, overhead projector and screen worth R15,000 was presented to the nurse in charge of the male medical ward Lidwin Payette by Airtel’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) coordinator Marie-Pierre Volcère.

Addressing the group of Airtel and hospital staff who had gathered for the short presentation ceremony, Mrs Volcère said her company had chosen the Seychelles Hospital for the donation as it wants the whole community to benefit from it.

“The donation will benefit all the patients in the wards as compared to if we had donated to an individual,” she said.

Accepting the donation, Ms Payette thanked Airtel for what she described as “a very good gesture” and for the continued partnership between the company and the Ministry of Health.

On behalf of the health authorities, she has promised to put the equipment and accessories received to good use.

Airtel has meanwhile promised to make more donations to the Seychelles Hospital in the future.
