MLUH rewards long serving staff |26 December 2014

• Raymond Chang-Tave 45 years in ministry

After spending 45 years in the public service, Raymond Chang-Tave is the longest serving employee of the Ministry of Land Use and Habitat (MLUH).

For his loyalty and long service, Mr Chang-Tave has received a long service award from the hands of Minister Christian Lionnet, for whom he is the current special advisor.

This was during the ministry’s award ceremony which was held at the Sea Front Restaurant on Tuesday evening.

In a short speech, Minister Lionnet expressed his gratitude for the good advice which he daily receives from such an experienced technician.

He reminded that Mr Chang-Tave started his career as a survey technician in the survey division and rose up to the role of principal secretary (PS) before being named to his current post.

Referring to the 45 years as a record, the minister reminded that most of the current MLUH employees were not born then.

Congratulating Mr Chang-Tave for the feat, he remarked that it is not easy to spend 45 years in the same ministry and continue to go strong.

He concluded by commending the former survey specialist for playing a key role in the government’s land distribution programme which has permitted many Seychellois families to own their own home.

Mr Lionnet seized the occasion to thank his staff for what he termed as “a proud success in 2014”.

He expressed his confidence in having a good team who can work alongside him in 2015 which he has however warned will be a hard working year.

The other MLUH employees who were rewarded for their long service during the evening are Tatiana Amblavany, Rose-Mary Chang-Loye, Gerard Esparon, Patrick Lablache, Daniel Chang-Lai, Dominic Dookley, Kethleen Esparon, Marie-France Marie Anne Camille, Farida Afif and Maryline Vidot.

All the awardees received a trophy, a certificate and a cash reward.
