Anse Royale school gets new LCD projectors |21 January 2015

The Diplomatic Spouses Association (DSA) has donated a batch of LCD projectors to the Anse Royale secondary school.

“Studying with only textbooks while living in a computerised world is not as effective as it used to be, and frankly speaking, not as fun. It is much more interesting to learn off the big screen,” said Alla Belous, the chairperson of the DSA when handing over the donation yesterday.

Mrs Belous said this modern device can help increase the demonstrability and expressiveness of the presentation of educational materials. It encourages a better and easier way of understanding information and it has a positive effect on the process of remembering.

“As a teacher in his younger years and later the Minister for Education, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Seychelles, James Michel, once said that today’s school children are the future of the country, its leaders and constructors of tomorrow,” said Mrs Belous.

Fabien Palmyre, the head teacher of the Anse Royale secondary school, expressed gratitude to the ladies of the DSA as he commended them for the hard work they have done over the years, for example hosting the annual Christmas bazaar.

He also noted that the donation of the LCD projectors is also the result of a request from parents.

He said he is sure that the students of Anse Royale secondary will use the gifts with respect. He said although the LCD projectors means that the teachers will have to do extra work, it will also aid in the production of the students’ works.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Education has announced that it will be donating LCD projectors to all secondary schools around Seychelles.
