While welcoming the overall pass rate of higher than 90% in both the IGCSE and DELF examinations, the Ministry of Education is keenly aware that much needs to be done to improve the grades achieved in all subjects, and particularly within the range of A* to C Grades.

This significant challenge is addressed in the Ministry of Education’s ‘Medium-Term Strategy 2013-17 and beyond’, which sets a wide range of specific targets aimed at raising the overall quality of student performance at all levels of the Seychelles education and training system. The implementation of the ministry’s strategy, and the realisation of these targets will require a committed and sustained contribution from everyone involved in the education system.
It will also be crucial for students to take their studies more seriously, and for parents and teachers to encourage and support them in raising the overall quality of the grades achieved across all subjects.

The Ministry of Education has congratulated the students who have completed the 2014 IGCSE and DELF examinations, urging them to continue with their studies at the next level of the education and training system, and to wish them well in their future careers.

The ministry has also thanked the management of schools and all the teachers who have worked diligently to provide a quality education for all our students, and to acknowledge in a special way the encouragement and support provided by parents and other stakeholders.
