‘A child is a gift from God,’ priest tells congregation |26 March 2015

Les Li Viv, a pro-life organisation operating under the patronage of the Roman Catholic Church, organised a mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception yesterday to commemorate The Day of Life.

It was also the Feast of the Annunciation of God.
This year’s International Day of the Unborn Child is being celebrated under the theme ‘Human Life is Sacred. Help us Protect It’.

The mass was animated by the diocese priest David Alcindor who stressed on the need to protect and respect life.

“Let us pray together so that life can be respected and protected in all its form,” said the priest to quite a large congregation.

He also urged the young mothers to accept their child and their pregnancies and asked them to pray God to give them courage to respect their lives.

Father Alcindor also had a message for fathers asking them to take their responsibility and not to abandon the young mothers when they (the fathers) discover the girls are expecting.

“All mothers who go through the abortion process are affected their whole life through their flesh and through their brains. Some women become sterile and therefore cannot conceive, so those who are blessed with having kids have to learn to appreciate them and thank God for such a wonderful gift,” he said.

Les Li Viv helps young girls with unplanned pregnancies to keep their child through counselling and other means.
