SCCI boss meets Zambian Deputy Minister for Culture and Arts |25 April 2015

Zambian Deputy Minister for Culture and Arts, Esther Banda, paid a courtesy visit to the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) secretariat yesterday morning and was welcomed by chairman Marco Francis and secretary general Juliette Sicobo-Azaïs.

The discussions touched on trade between the two countries and other African countries.
“A better understanding of each country’s culture is very important so as to better trade with each other,” said Mr Francis.

Business innovation was another point discussed during the meeting and Mr Francis said the Seychelles government supports small and medium enterprises through funding to start their businesses.

Many other points were raised, mainly the importance of public and private sector dialogues. Mr Francis explained to the delegation that the SCCI has representatives on most of the governmental national boards and that the working relationship with the government has been very fruitful.

Mrs Banda expressed satisfaction with the warm welcome she received upon her arrival in Seychelles and thanked Mr Francis for welcoming her at the SCCI secretariat.

She said she is looking forward to attend today’s carnival where Zambia is being represented by dancers in the parade.

Mr Francis took the opportunity to formally invite the Zambian delegation to the FETAFRIK EXPO that will be held in May 2015.
In return, the Zambian Deputy Minister invited Mr Francis to undertake a working visit very soon in Zambia.
